Not long ago, Katrina was doing everything she could to rebuild her life.

After nearly four years of sobriety, she was raising her two boys and working hard to create stability for her family. But life took a difficult turn. Grief, loss, and unhealthy relationships led to a relapse—and in a short time, everything she had worked for began to unravel.

Katrina and her children found themselves in a homeless shelter in downtown Minneapolis, doing their best to survive while holding onto hope for something better.

Despite the challenges, Katrina never stopped fighting for her future—or for her boys.

Then an opportunity opened.
