Talia's Story

Talia serves as a distinguished leader in substance use prevention and recovery advocacy, bringing almost a decade of personal and professional experience to her multifaceted roles within Minnesota's prevention and recovery ecosystem. Currently, she holds the position of Director of Northern Operations at Restore Recovery while simultaneously serving as Community Engagement Manager for the Minnesota Prevention & Recovery Alliance (MnPRA). Her leadership extends to coordinating the Crow Wing County Drug-Free Communities Coalition, known as Brainerd Lakes Area Drug Education (BLADE), and serving as Vice Chair of the Minnesota Prevention Alliance (MPA).

Talia's professional approach is grounded in authentic lived experience, drawing from her personal journey of overcoming methamphetamine addiction spanning 20 years. This profound personal transformation informs her empathetic leadership style and drives her unwavering commitment to supporting others on their recovery journeys while actively working to dismantle the stigma surrounding addiction. Her unique perspective bridges the gap between personal experience and professional expertise, enabling her to connect authentically with individuals and communities facing similar challenges.

Through her various leadership roles, Talia has demonstrated exceptional capability in community engagement, coalition building, and strategic program development. Her work with BLADE and MnPRA has strengthened prevention efforts across Minnesota, while her position at Restore Recovery allows her to directly impact individual recovery outcomes. Her vice-chair role with MPA further amplifies her influence on statewide prevention policy and practice.

Beyond her professional achievements, Talia maintains a rich personal life that includes spending quality time with her three children, pursuing creative outlets through sea glass collecting and stained-glass artistry, and exploring new destinations through travel. She finds renewal and grounding through nature-based activities, which contribute to her balanced approach to leadership and advocacy.
